Command Staff
“The Framework to any good unit”
First of all, these are the main elements you need:
Commanding Officer - The Commanding Officer of your unit must have impeccable Military Bearing. Proper typing ability (Grammar, spelling, etc) is a must. Your Commander represents the unit, when your CO speaks to other units and their CO's, he is what they will base their opinion off of. If your CO seems like a retard, so does your unit.
Company Senior Non Commissioned Officer - This is the bread and butter of your unit. Your Senior NCO will be in charge of Training, and keeping the NCO Staff and Enlisted men in order. Your NCO is NOT the same as an Officer; traditionally he should be a little rougher around the edges. He's the primary disciplinarian of the unit; the 1st Sgt is the back bone of ANY realism unit.
Everything past this is non-essential. XO's are dead weight 80% of the time. You can have an XO but you don't need one, in fact some units of Company size didn't have XO's. Don't get too top heavy, either. When you form it is totally accurate to have your CO as a 1st Lt, with a Technical Sergeant or even Staff Sergeant as your SNCO. You need men, trained and untrained before you can really justify having a Captain, and a First Sergeant, and an executive officer.
