Introduction

Ok, to start off my name is Christopher Handy, I've been in this community since 2001, as many of you may or may not know, and I've seen the rise and even fall of some great and not so great units. So here is my guide to starting a successful realism unit. Furthermore I will include; units, ranks, and various other information. This will be a long read, and if you won't take the time to read it, you're probably not going to take the time to form a quality unit.
First of all, if you've formed more than two units in the last month stop, just fucking stop. Units that start and die and start again get no respect, and furthermore deserve none. In fact, if you and 1-3 other people were the only members and you were only T/Sgt's and higher, you should consider stopping even more. Listen; let me make this very clear. This community is becoming bastardized by retards who can't hack it as a Private (E-7) or Private First Class (E-6) in another unit forging off and polluting the community with abominations that don't deserve unit status. This is a trend that NEEDS to stop, or this community will eventually decline into a cesspool of disorganized clan/units.
If you're going to create a unit, STICK TO IT. Don't kill it because you don't have enough guys, or because of any other problem. Stick with it; don't kill it because you found a cooler name, etc. To create a unit requires a LOT of effort, if you're not willing to put that effort forth, then don't make a unit, simply enlist with another unit and function as a part of their outfit.
