Tables of Organization
Now, what unit you pick dictates a lot, how many guys per squad, platoon and company, it can dictate ranks of different positions, and a lot of different things.
Let's start with the US Army Rifle Company, circa 1944
You're full rifle company has a lot of shit; cooks, messengers, drivers, mortars, etc, that you can't really have in DoD:S or other related realism games, furthermore Companies do not have an S1, S2, S3, S4, S5, S6, or any of that shit. That's strictly Battalion level. If you have a member in charge of recruitment, or public relations or anything else, fine, but he doesn't need to be your S#, he can simply be "Public Relations NCO/Officer" or "Recruitment Liaison" etc.
